Science Teaching It is a commonplace observation that people with little formal schooling are often quite adept at finding practical “hands on” solutions to the problems of everyday life. In the rich countries, the educated live and consume in an artificial environment of technologies too complex to be understood, much less controlled, by individuals. For most, experience with natural phenomenon and basic technical systems is very limited. Thus it is not at all surprising that relatively unschooled villagers in developing countries often demonstrate technical inventiveness and environmental understanding which astonish rich visitors. Farmers, for example, make complex decisions about which crops to plant and when, based on their knowledge of the soil and ecological interactions. Most village-level technical innovation comes from trial and error and observations, often over many seasons. Village technology evolves as a result. But unsupported by systematic knowledge of natural science, the rate of village technology development is much slower than it could be. Unfortunately, the science taught in schools in developing countries does not contribute to useful innovations in village technologies. Science studies should equip young people with an understanding of how to apply the basic principles of physics and biology to address a common problem (whether it be poor grain storage or a broken pump). Related skills—how to systematically control and vary a set of experimental trials, and how to carefully observe and record the results are equally important. But educational methods and curricula that are based on repetition and memorization, or inherited from a colonial past, usually mean that science teaching in the South concentrates on phenomena that are beyond the students’ everyday experience, with little or no practical value. Science education (and education in general) is, in fact, too often part of a sorting process through which a fortunate few may escape the rural areas and qualify for an urban job in government. Science teachers, themselves the products of such a system, do not expect the community to demand that they teach a practical curriculum relevant to local conditions. January 7 - Alabama wins BCS Championship
On January 7, the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over the Texas Longhorns 37-21 to capture the school's first national title since 1992. Game MVP, and Heisman Trophy winning running back, Mark Ingram scored two touchdowns.

January 12 - Haiti earthquake

On January 12, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake shook Port-au-Prince, Haiti, toppling buildings and destroying most of the country's infrastructure. The Haitian government estimated 230,000 people were killed, more than 300,000 injured, and more than one million people left homeless. Humanitarian aid began flowing into the country within hours of the quake; however it was not enough to prevent rioting in the economically ravaged nation.

January 19 - Scott Brown elected to Senate

On January 19, Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown shocked the political world, upsetting Democrat Martha Coakley in a special election for Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat. Brown's victory tipped the Senate away from a Democratic Super Majority.

January 21 - The Edwards separate

On January 21, Former presidential candidate, John Edwards and wife Elizabeth officially separated one week after the ex-Senator admitted he had fathered a child with mistress Rielle Hunter. In March, Hunter conducted an interview and photo shoot with 'GQ' magazine, explaining details of the affair. In April she appeared on 'Oprah'.

January 22 - Conan's last 'Tonight Show'

On January 22, twelve days after NBC confirmed it would be returning Jay Leno to host the 'Tonight Show', Conan O'Brien officially ended his reign as show host, leaving NBC after a bitter dispute. O'Brien announced later in the year that he would be reappearing with his own late night show on TBS called 'Conan'.

January 27 - Apple unveils the iPad

On January 27th, after months of speculation, Apple Inc. CEO, Steve Jobs, unveiled the company's first tablet computer, the iPad. The mobile tablet provided the functionality of a MacBook laptop and the mobility of an iPhone. The iPad hit shelves in April of 2010 and sold more than 3 million units in just 80 days.

January 28 - Toyota pedal recall

On January 28, Toyota instituted its second recall after reports of pedals sticking to floor mats, causing people to accelerate without being able to use their break. The recall included 2.3 million vehicles sold in the U.S. and 1.8 million sold in other countries. An addional 1.1 million more Toyota vehicles were recalled a week later. After several Congressional hearings and testimony, Toyota deemed the recall repairs had been effective in solving the issue.

February 5-14 - Snowmageddon

On February 5, the first major snow storm of 2010 pounded the East. New Jersey to Washington, DC received more than 20 inches of snow, closing interstates and shutting down rails. The blizzard was followed four days later by another major snow dump. From February 9-11, Philadelphia to Washington, DC received another 16-20 inches of snow. The winter storms prompted President Obama to refer to the weather system as 'Snowmageddon'.

February 7 - New Orleans Saints win the Super Bowl

On February 7 the New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts to win Super Bowl XLIV. The Super Bowl was the team's first in franchise history. Saints' QB Drew Brees was named Super Bowl MVP.

February 12-28 - Vancouver Olympics
On February 28, the Canadian men's hockey team scored a game-winning overtime goal to beat the United States 3-2, giving the home team its 14th overall gold, the most golds of any nation. The United States lead all countries in medals with 37.

February 17 - U.S. missionaries released in Haiti

On February 17, eight of ten U.S. missionaries were released from Port-au-Prince jail after their arrest on kidnapping charges after attempting to transport 33 Haitian children into the Dominican Republic days after the January 12 earthquake. Most of the missionaries came from two Baptist churches in Idaho. The remaining two missionaries were released in March and May.

February 18 - Plane flown into IRS building

On February 18, Joseph Stack, a 53-year-old software engineer committed suicide by flying a small plane into an IRS building in Austin, Texas. Internal Revenue Service manager Vernon Hunter, who was in the building at the time of the crash, also died. Thirteen others were hurt, two seriously. After the crash police found Stack's rambling suicide note criticizing the government.

February 19 - Tiger Woods apologizes

On February 19th, golf legend Tiger Woods made an emotional apology after rumors of several extra-marital affairs. Woods' wife Elin Nordegren was not in attendance at the press conference. The announcement broke three months of silence and speculation following Woods' apparent car crash in front of his house.



March 15 - Full body scanners installed

On March 15, the TSA began testing new body scanners at Chicago's O'Hare Airport. The scanners show a full body X-ray through clothing, and is meant to check for metallic and non-metallic threats including explosives. Passengers who chose not to go through the security scanners have to go through a pat down inspection.

March 18 - Jesse James admits infidelity

On March 18, after rumors of infidelity, actor Jesse James made a public apology to wife Sandra Bullock. The news came as a surprise to the entertainment industry which had just seen the two celebrating Bullock's Oscar for 'The Blind Side' earlier in the month. One month later Bullock announced she was adopting a baby from New Orleans, a process that began before James' announcement. The couple was officially divorced June 28.

March 20 - First full face transplant

On March 20, a team of 30 Spanish doctors completed the first ever full face transplant. The patient 'Oscar' had been injured in a shooting accident

March 23 - Obama signs health care into law

On March 23, after months of debate, President Obama signed into law the the one of the most sweeping pieces of social legislation ever passed by Congress. It ensured medical coverage for almost all Americans. The legality of the law was challenged in several states. Much of the bill will not go into effect until 2014.

March 30 - CERN collides protons

On March 30, the world's largest atom smasher collided two protons at a speed three times faster than ever before. The experiment was designed to simulate the Big Bang Model, and help explain the origin of the building blocks of the universe.

April 1 - U.S. Census begins

On April 1, the United States government began distributing 10 question Census forms to all U.S. residents. By August the Census Bureau claimed a 72% return rate. According to federal officials the cost of the nationwide survey was $1.6 billion less than projected

April 5 - West Virginia mine explosion

On April 5, an underground explosion at the Upper Big Branch coal mine at Montcoal in Raleigh County, West Virginia left 29 people dead. High methane levels where detected in the mine. It was the worst coal mining disaster in the U.S. since 1970 when 38 workers died.

April 5 - Duke beats Butler for NCAA Championship

On April 5, NCAA basketball powerhouse Duke edged hometown underdog Butler 61-59 to win its fourth NCAA title. Butler took a half court, potentially game winning, shot as time expired, but it bounced off the rim.

April 10 - Polish president killed in plane crash

On April 10, Polish President Lech Kaczyński, his wife, and several other top government officials were killed when their Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft crashed near Smolensk, Russia. All 96 people aboard the plane were killed in the crash. Heavy fog may have played a factor it it going down.

April 14 - Iceland volcano eruption

On April 14, Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull erupted for a second time, causing a massive plume of smoke and ash. In just one week the cloud had forced the cancellation of 95,000 flights over Europe



April 20 - BP oil well explodes

On April 20, The Deepwater Horizon, an offshore floating oil rig exploded, killing 11 workers and forcing other workers onto life boats. The explosion set off a three month oil leak that reached American shores in Louisiana, Missisippi, Alabama and Florida. The leak was not stopped until July 15.

May 1 - Attempted Times Square bombing

On May 1, an attempted bomb plot shut down New York's Times Square. Security cameras showed a man walking away from a smoking SUV. The SUV was found to have explosive materials, but never detonated. Two days later the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced the arrest of Faisal Shahzad while reportedly attempting to board a plane to Pakistan. Shahzad was sentenced on October 5th to life in prison without parole

May 10 - Britian elects David Cameron

On May 10, Britain elected David Cameron as its new Prime Minister. Cameron took over for Gordon Brown whose approval ratings had been slumping for months.

May 23 - 'Lost' finale

On May 23, after six seasons, ABC aired the series finale of ' Lost'. Viewers were expecting the final show would answer all their questions about the plot, however many questions were still left unanswered. 13.5 million viewers tuned in for the series finale

May 28 - Actor Gary Coleman dies

On May 28, 'Different Strokes' actor Gary Coleman died after sustaining a brain hemorrhage after an injury at his Utah home. 911 tapes revealed ex-wife Shannon Price made an emergency call about the injury. Her reaction to the injury seemed a bit suspicious, but in October an autopsy revealed that the cause of death was indeed an accident

June 3 - Joran van der Sloot arrested

On June 3, Joran van der Sloot, suspected in the murder of American Natalee Holloway in 2005 was arrested in Peru following the murder of Tatiana Flores Ramírez. Ramírez's body was found beaten to death in a Peruvian hotel room paid for by van der Sloot. Security camera video caught Joran entering the room with Ramírez, and leaving without her. According to police he admitted to Ramírez's death on June 7, but later took the confession back.

June 11-July 11 - The World Cup
On June 11, South Africa welcomed soccer fans around the world as the World Cup opened for the first time on African soil. The U.S. Men's Team advanced to the knockout round after tying England and Slovenia, and beating Algeria with a goal by Landon Donovan in stoppage time. Spain defeated The Netherlands in the World Cup Final 1-0, the nation's first World Cup title.

June 27 - Russian spies arrested

On June 27, nine Russian spies were arrested and deported from the U.S. after an FBI sting dubbed 'Illegals Program'. Among the nine arrested was a 28-year-old red head named Anna Chapman, who after her arrest was portrayed as a sexy spy. Photos later released of Chapman revealed her wearing cocktail dresses. Her attractive figure even prompted comments from Vice President Joe Biden who said he wasn't the one who ordered her deported.

July 8 - LeBron James makes 'The Decision'

On July 8, LeBron James ended years of speculation by announcing he would be leaving Cleveland and would join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat. The announcement came as shock to Cleveland fans, some of which took to the streets burning James jerseys. 'The Decision' raised $2.5 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America

21 - Obama signs financial reform bill

On July 21, President Barack Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The measure was the most sweeping financial reform in the U.S. since the 1930s, and promised Americans would no longer have to pay for Wall Street mistakes.

July 31 - Chelsea Clinton gets married

On July 31, Chelsea Clinton, the only daughter of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton wed longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinky in a ceremony two hours north of New York City. The secrecy of the location and guest list provided much speculation when the couple announced their engagement earlier in the year.

August 4 - Beer distributors shooting rampage

On August 4, disgruntled employee Omar Thornton opened fire at a beer distribution plant in South Windsor, Conn. Eight employees were killed before Thornton turned the gun on himself. Speaking with a 911 operator Thornton claimed that the company treated him unfairly because he was black.

August 13 - Ground Zero mosque debate

On August 13, President Barack Obama entered into the Ground Zero Islamic center debate. Polls showed a majority of New Yorkers opposed the placement of a mosque within blocks of the former site of the World Trade Towers. In a speech following a dinner celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, President Obama said, "Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country. And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances."



. August 15 - Craigslist killer suicide

On August 15, exactly one year after 'Craigslist Killer' Philip Markoff was supposed to be married, he was found dead in his cell at Boston's Nashua Street Jail. Markoff was convicted in 2009 of killing three women whom he solicited from the website Craigslist. Markoff had reportedly attempted suicide several times prior to his death.

August 25 - Bed Bugs outbreak

On August 25, Terminex released its list of the worst 15 cities for bed bugs. New York City was ranked the worst, with four Ohio cities also making the rankings. One week prior to the list's release an AMC Movie Theater in New York City was forced to shut down over a bed bug infestation.

August 31 - President Obama announces Iraq combat end

On August 31, President Barack Obama spoke in a prime time address formally declaring an end to combat operations in Iraq. However 50,000 American troops remained in the country.

September 1 - Discovery Channel gunman

On September 1, James Jay Lee, a 43-year-old environmental protester, entered the Discovery Channel headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland claiming to be armed with a bomb and two pistols. Lee fired a shot into the air, before taking hostages. After a nearly four hour long standoff Lee was shot and killed by police. No hostages were hurt in the standoff. Lee had previously held protests outside of the building, including one where he through money into the air.

September 9 - Gas explosion in San Bruno, CA

On September 9, nine people were killed in a neighborhood in San Bruno, California after a pipeline exploded. Homes were destroyed and flames spread throughout the neighborhood. Residents claimed they thought the explosion was an earthquake. The resulting fire took 200 firefighters and a full day to put out.

September 14 - U.S. hiker in Iran released

On September 14, American hiker Sarah Shourd was released by Iran after being detained for 13 months under allegations of spying for the U.S. Hikers Shane Bauer and Joshua Fattal remain detained without trial.

September 22 - Mark Zuckerberg donates $100 million

On September 22, it was reported 26-year-old Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg would donate $100 million to the Newark Public Schools. Zuckerberg later made the official announcement on Oprah. The timing of the announcement was a bit peculiar, as it came just weeks after a movie allegedly about Zuckerberg called 'Social Network' was released. Facebook was heavily criticized in 2010 for allegedly allowing outside sources to pull personal information from its users, but Zuckerberg was later named 'Time Person of the Year' on December 16.

September 30 - New leader of North Korea

On September 30, an event in North Korea featuring the youngest son of leader Kim Jong-Il, named Kim John-Un, appeared to show the announcement of the eventual successor in the country. It is believed that Kim Jon-Il's health is failing, however the government has not stated that formally.

October 1 - CNN fires Rick Sanchez

On October 1, CNN fired afternoon host Rick Sanchez following comments he made on a radio show claiming 'Comedy Central' host Jon Stewart was a "bigot," and that CNN and all media outlets are run by Jewish people. Sanchez later apologized for the comments.

October 6 - Christine O'Donnell announces she's not a witch

On October 6, Delaware GOP Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell released an ad claiming 'I am not a witch.' The ad was meant to deflect growing criticism after an decade old interview surfaced in which O'Donnell claimed she had dabbled in witchcraft. O'Donnell's campaign also suffered scrutiny over an old MTV segment in which she denounced masturbation, and a debate gaff in which she struggled with a question on the First Amendment.

October 8 - Brett Favre text messages revealed

On October 8, the website deadspin.com revealed alleged e-mails sent by longtime NFL quarterback Brett Favre to a then New York Jets employee named Jenn Sterger when Favre played with the Jets. The messages included nude pictures and voice mail messages of Favre allegedly inviting Sterger to his hotel room. Favre was investigated by the league for the allegations. On December 29, Favre was fined $50,000 for failing to comply with the investigation.

October 29- Explosive devices found on planes

On October 29, two U.S.-bound cargo planes were grounded after suspicious packages were found aboard. Both packages were reportedly heading to a Jewish synagogue in Chicago from Yemen. The planes were intercepted in Dubai and England . According to U.S. and British officials the packages included wires and explosives. One of the packages was reported to have enough explosives to bring down the plane. Government officials in Yemen reportedly arrested a woman in connection with the mailings.

November 1 - Giants win World Series

On November 1, the San Francisco Giants won their first World Series since 1954, defeating the Texas Rangers 3-1 in Game 6. Edgar Rentería's three run homerun in the seventh inning helped him nab the World Series MVP award. It was the first time the Texas Rangers had ever reached the World Series.

November 2 - Midterm elections

On November 2, a GOP tide rolled through Washington as Republicans won full control of the House and picked up six seats in the Senate. Most called the sweeping change a statement against the Obama agenda, including health care and rising deficit. Nancy Pelosi lost her position as House speaker. That job will be filled in 2011 by House Minority Leader John Boehner.



November 9 - President Bush releases 'Decision Points'

On November 9, former President George W. Bush released his first post-presidency book called 'Decision Points'. In the book Bush explained some of the more difficult points in his presidency, including squabbles between himself and Dick Cheney over Scooter Libby, waterboarding, and being told by Kanye West that he doesn't care about black people. The former president hit the talk show circuit upon the release, doing interviews with Matt Lauer of the 'Today Show' and Jay Leno on the 'Tonight Show'

November 11 - Carnival cruise ship pulled back to port

On November 11, the stranded Carinval Splendor cruise ship returned to port after losing power off the California coast. More than 4,500 passengers and crew members were left without power for three days after a fire in the ship's engine room. Emergency food supplies were delivered, and tug boats were used to bring the boat back into a San Diego port.

November 16 - Alcohol energy drink Four Loko reformulated

On November 16, Phusion Projects announced it was reformulating its alcoholic energy drink line called 'Four'. Prior to the announcement, the beverage included as much caffeine as a cup of coffee and 12% alcohol content, and could be bought in various flavors. The drink is believed to have made more than a dozen people sick at a party at Central Washington University.

November 16 - Prince William engaged

On November 16, Prince William and longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton announced their engagement. The two had been dating for eight years. William gave Middleton the ring his mother had worn when she was engaged with Prince Charles. The two will be wed in April of 2011 at Westminster Abbey



Nov. 23 - North Korea shells South Korea

On November 23, North Korea fired dozens of military shells at the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong, killing two soldiers. The attack came as South Korea was conducting military drills. The United States condemned the attack.

December 6 - Obama reaches tax deal

On December 6, President Barack Obama announced he had reached a deal with Republican leaders to extend Bush era tax cuts for all Americans for two more years. In exchange the president received an extension of unemployment benefits. The president had been fighting the tax cuts for most of 2010, and the deal angered most liberal Democrats, but signed the bill into law on December 17.

December 7 - Elizabeth Edwards dies

On December 7 - Elizabeth Edwards, the former wife of Sen. John Edwards died after a six year battle with cancer. Edwards separated from her politician husband after he revealed earlier in the year that he had fathered a child with a mistress. Her death came just one day after it was announced she would end her cancer treatment, and didn't have much longer to live. She was 61

December 14 - Florida gunman kills self in school board meeting

On December 14, Clay A. Duke entered the Panama City School Board meeting Florida. He told board members it was their fault that his wife was fired from her job. He then spray painted a red 'V' on the wall, and took out a handgun. Superintendent Bill Husfelt attempted to get Duke to calm down, but Duke took aim and fired a shot. No board members were hurt. Duke was shot from behind by a security guard. He later killed himself.

December 26 - East Coast blizzard

On December 26, a massive blizzard pounded the Northeast, dumping more than 20 inches of snow on New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The storm left thousands stranded in cars and their homes. 911 calls went unanswered. And the snow forced the postponement of the Sunday Night Football game in Philadelphia. All of the New York City streets were cleared four days later.

We use the term information technology or IT to refer to an entire industry. In actuality, information technology is the use of computers and software to manage information. In some companies, this is referred to as Management Information Services (or MIS) or simply as Information Services (or IS). The information technology department of a large company would be responsible for storing information, protecting information, processing the information, transmitting the information as necessary, and later retrieving information as necessary. History of Information Technology: In relative terms, it wasn't long ago that the Information Technology department might have consisted of a single Computer Operator, who might be storing data on magnetic tape, and then putting it in a box down in the basement somewhere. Modern Information Technology Departments: In order to perform the complex functions required of information technology departments today, the modern Information Technology Department would use computers, servers, database management systems, and cryptography. The group usually reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

सन् २००८ का महत्वपूर्ण विश्व घटनाजनवरी २७:- इण्डोनेसियामा ३२ वर्षसम्म एकलौटी शासन गर्ने पूर्वराष्ट्रपति सुहार्तोको ८६ वर्षको उमेरमा निधन । उहाँको शासनकालमा आठ लाख कम्युनिस्ट र तीन लाख सर्वसाधारण मारिएका थिए । जनवरी २८ :- १८ महिनाको सैनिक शासनपछि सामाक सुन्दरावेजको नेतृत्वमा नागरिक सरकार गठन । फेब्रुअरी १७ :- सर्वियाली प्रान्त कोसोभो अलग्गिएर स्वतन्त्र राष्ट्र भएको घोषणा । फेब्रुअरी १८ :- आठ वर्षे सैनिक शासनपछि पाकिस्तानमा पहिलो संसदीय आमनिर्वाचन सम्पन्न । मार्च १५ :- तिब्बतमा दलाई लामाका समर्थ्ाकहरूले तीन दशकयताकै ठूलो हिंसात्मक दङ्गा गरेपछिको सुरक्षा कारबाहीमा दर्जनौँको मृत्यु थुप्रै पक्राउ । मार्च २४ :- भुटानको इतिहासमा पहिलोपटक संसद्का लागि आमनिर्वाचन सम्पन्न । अपि्रल १२:- चीन र ताइवानबीच ६० वर्षमा पहिलेपटक राष्ट्रपति तहमा वार्ता । अपि्रल २८ :-रतद्वारा एकैपटक १० वटा भू- उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण गरी विश्व कीर्तिमान कायम । मे ३:- म्यान्मामा नर्गिस नामको समुद्री आँधीबाट एक लाख मानिसको मृत्यु, १० लाख मानिस घरवारविहीन । मे १२ :- चीनको सिचुआन प्रान्तमा ७ दशमलव ९ रेक्टर स्केलको महाभूकम्प जाँदा ५५ हजार मानिसको मृत्यु, ४८ लाख मानिस घरवारविहीन । जुन २६ :- अमेरिकाद्वारा उत्तर कोरियामाथिको नाकाबन्दी र आतङ्कवादीको सूचीबाट हटाउने घोषणा । जुन २९ :- लिङ्ग परिवर्तन गरी पुरुष बनेका अमेरिकी नागरिक ३४ वषर्ीय थोमस बेरीद्वारा शिशु जन्माई विश्व कीर्तिमान कायम जुलाई ९:- इरानद्वारा 'सहाव-३' सहित ९ वटा क्षेप्यास्त्र परीक्षण । जुलाई १४ :- सुडानका राष्ट्रपति ओमार अली बसारविरुद्ध डार्पुmरमा युद्ध अपराध गरेको आरोपमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय युद्धअपराध अदालतमा मुद्दा चलाउन आदेश । अगस्ट ६ :- मौरिटानियामा सेना प्रमुख जनरल मोहम्मद ओल्ड अबेल अजिजद्वारा सत्ता कब्जा गरी राष्ट्रपति सिदिओल्ड चेख अब्दालाही र प्रधानमन्त्री यालेओल्ड अहमद पक्राउ । अगस्ट ७ :- जर्जियाको दक्षिणी ओसेटिया र अब्खाजियाको विषयलाई लिएर रुस र जर्जियाबीच युद्ध सुरु । सेप्टेम्वर १० :- पृथ्वीको उत्पत्तिको रहस्य पत्ता लगाउन स्वीट्जरल्याण्डको जेनेभामा अहिलेसम्मकै सबैभन्दा ठूलो भौतिक विज्ञानको परीक्षण सुरु । सेप्टेम्वर १५ :- अमेरिकाको चौथो ठूलो बैङ्क लेम्यान ब्रदर्स टाट पल्टेको घोषणासँगस्ाँगै विश्वव्यापी आर्थिक सङ्कट सुरु । अक्टोवर १० :- मो समयसम्मको गृहकार्यपछि भारत र अमेरिकाबीच गैरसैनिक आणविक सम्झौता सम्पन्न । अक्टोवर २२ :- भारतद्वारा पहिलोपटक मानवरहित अन्तरिक्ष यान 'चन्द्रयान'को सफल परीक्षण । नोभेम्वर ४ :- अमेरिकाको इतिहासमा पहिलोण्पटक अश्वेत राष्ट्रपतिमा बाराक ओबामा निर्वाचित । नोभेम्वर २६-२९ :- भारतको औद्योगिक सहर मुम्बईमा १० जना आतङ्ककारीले १० वटा प्रमुख स्थानमा आक्रमण गरेपछि ६० घण्टासम्म भिडन्त, दुई सय जनाको मृत्यु तीन सयभ्ान्दा बढी घाइते । डिसेम्बर २ :- थाइल्याण्डको संवैधानिक अदालतद्वारा सत्तारुढ पिपुल्स पावर पार्टीमाथि प्रतिबन्ध , प्रधानमन्त्री सोम्चाई वाङ्सावतलाई सत्ताच्यूत गरी पाँच वर्षसम्म राजनीति गर्न प्रतिबन्ध । डिसेम्वर ७-८ :- तालिवान विद्रोहीले अफगानिस्तानमा कार्यरत नेटो स्ोनालाई खाद्य सामग्री बोकेका १५० वटा सवारी साधन कब्जामा लिई आगजनी ...महत्वपूर्ण विश्व घटना

कोपिला, फूल र प्रेमको भाषा एकै हुन्छ

अलकत्रे सडक। जहाँ रुखका लामा लामा छायाहरु बिलाएको थियो। हेर्दा लाग्थ्यो यो सडक कुनै बलिष्ठ पुरुषको नाङ्गो छाती हो। ऊ त्यही सडक छेउमा उभिएकी थिई र सोचको गहिरो दहमा डुबेकी थिई। उसले आफू गइरहेको दिशासमेत पत्तो पाएकी थिइन। ठ्याक्कै जानै पर्ने ठाउँ पनि थिएन। भेट्नु पर्ने कोही विशेष मान्छे थिएन। र निरुद्देश्य एकनास हिँडिरहेकी थिई। उसले सोची- ‘साथहरु केही क्षणका लागि रहेछन्। अब जीवनमा मैले एक्लै एक्लै हिंड्नु पर्छ। बाँच्नु पर्ने जीवन लामो छ। काम गरेर थाक्नु पर्ने दिन र आराम गर्नुपर्ने रातहरु धेरै छन्।’ उसले कसिलो ठानेको प्रेमको डोरी भरखरै छिनेकJ थियो। यो विछोडको पीडाले एक्लै रहँदा ऊ आफूमा शून्य महसुस गर्थी। शहरको कोलाहलले उसलाई अलिकति पनि छोइरहेकJ थिएन। आफ्नै मनमा ठूलो कोलाहल मच्चाएर हिंडेकी थिई। नाप्ने हो भने मनभित्रको कोलाहलको डेसिबल सबैभन्दा बढी पुग्छ भन्ने उसको अनुमान थियो। साँझ परिसकेको थिएन। दिनभर तातेको घाम विस्तारै पहेँलिँदै र रातो बन्दै गएको थियो। उसले पश्चिम भासिन लागेको फुङ्ग बादल छेउको घामको घुर्मैलो रातो डल्लोलाई हेरी। ‘यो मबाट कति टाढा होला-’, साँझको सिरसिरे बतासले उडाएको कपाल त्यतिकै छाडिदिएर उसले सोची- ‘मेरा प्रत्येक सम्बन्ध यही डढेको साँझको सूर्यजस्तो पहेँलिएका छन्। यी सम्बन्धका सीमाहरु मबाट यति परको क्षितिजमा छन् जति दूरीमा छ यो सूर्य।’ उसले निष्ठुरी भइसकेको प्रेमीलाई सम्झी। उसको हातको तातो स्पर्श याद गरी। मैलो बाग्मती सम्झी। जहाँ उनीहरु हात समातेर प्रष्ट नदेखिने सूर्यको छाया हेर्थे। त्यो हिजोलाई उसले अहिलेको आफ्नो जिन्दगीसाग दाँजी र अझ उदास भई। निधारमा लागेको प्रेमीको ओठको दाग झरीले खोपिल्टा परेको बलेसीजस्तो अब विस्तारै मेटिँदै गएको अनुभव गरी। पीडाले छियाछिया पार्ने मन बाहेक प्रेमीको चिनो नीलो चाक्लो रुमाल उसले हराइसकेकी थिई। जो नहराउन्जेल प्रत्येक साँझ आफ्ना गुलाबी गालाहरुमा टाँसेर ऊ त्यसलाई चुमिरहन्थी। जसबाट आउँथ्यो उसको प्रेमीको हरक र मायालु स्पर्श। जुन दिन त्यसलाई हराइ ऊ निकै रोई र सिरानी भिजाइ। एकान्तमा आउने उसको प्रेमीको सुगन्ध त्यही रुमालसँगै हराएको थियो। यस्तै सोचाइको लम्बाइ बढ्दै गएपछि उसलाई आफ्नो सौन्दर्यको उचाइले आफैलाई किचेको अनुभव भयो। सम्झनाका सिर्कनाहरुले मनको कुनामा यसरी सोँठ्याए कि प्रत्येक प्रहार उसका लागि पीडादायी भइरहर्योझ। उसलाई आफूभित्रको विश्वासको हिमाल होचिँदै गएको भान भयो। सबै सुन्दरता धूँवाको कालो लप्का र खरानीजस्तो भएर आँखामा देखियो। सोचाइको ऐनामा हेर्दाहेर्दै उसलाई हिजो सुन्दर लागेको उसको प्रेमीको अनुहार विस्तारै कुरुप र भद्दा लाग्दै गयो। आँखाको नानीमा विगतको सम्झनालाई उसले यसरी हेरी- प्रत्येक साँझ उनीहरु प्राचीन शहर घुम्थे। मक्किन लागेको ऐतिहासिक सिंढीमा ढेपिएर बसेका हुन्थे। छेवैमा हरियो लेउ लागेको पोखरी थियो। पोखरी छेउमा पहेँलो इँटा छापिएको सफा बाटो थियो। बाटो पुराना घरहरु छुँदै पर्तिर कतै अन्त मोडिएको थियो। उनीहरु बाटो छेउको प्रचीन देवलमा घण्टौँसम्म अडेस लाग्थे। कुनै विदेशी नियोगको सहयोगमा बनेको पार्कमा डुल्थे। हरेक भेटमा उसको प्रेमी उसलाई चुमिरहन्थ्यो र उत्तर आधुनिकजस्तो लाग्ने सोचाइमा भन्थ्यो-’प्रेम पनि अन्तिम सत्य होइन। मात्रै आकर्षणको चुम्बकीयताले पैदा गरेको भ्रम हो। र यो एउटा बाँच्न सिर्जना गरिएको निहुँ हो। यदि यति नहुँदो हो त बाँच्ने बहानामा सबै मान्छेले आत्महत्या गरिसकेका हुन्थे, तिमी र मैले पनि। वा एकले अर्कालाई मारिसकेका हुन्थे। यतिखेर सबै मान्छेसँग प्रेम, विछोड, मृत्यु, घृणा र पूर्वस्मृति जस्ता एक एक वटा बाँच्ने निहुँ छन्। त्यसैले वास्तवमा हामी अवास्तविक हौं। हाम्रो प्रेम अन्तिम सत्य होइन। अन्तिम सत्य असत्य र मृत्यु मात्रै हो, त्यो समयको काँटामा घडी भएर हल्लिरहेको हुन्छ। हावामा उड्ने धुलोका मसिना चक्काजस्तो हाम्रो अनुभूतिको उडानले यस्तै असत्यहरुलाई निहुँ बनाएर बाँच्ने अर्को निहुँ पैदा गरिरहेको छ।’ त्यतिखेर ऊ चौडा फैलिएको नीलो आकाश हेरेर प्रेमीको काखमा पल्टिएकी थिइ। उसले प्रेमीको काखमा सुतेर सुनेका नदीको प्रवाहजस्तै यी कुराको वास्ता गरिन। उसलाई यी सबै आधुनिक गद्य कविताजस्तो लाग्यो। र त्यो एकान्तिक भेटमा उसका कुरा प्रति कुनै विवाद गरिन। विवादमा ऊ सधैँ विफल हुन्थी। विवादमा तर्क गरिरहनु भन्दा प्रेमीको तातो काखमा पल्टिनु सयौँ गुणा लाभदायक हो भन्ने ऊ ठान्थी। र प्रेमीको काखमा पल्टेर रमाइला सपना देख्थी। यस्ता सपना जुन सपनामा सपनाका सबै विशेषताहरु भरिएका हुन्थे।मात्रै उसले प्रेम प्रदर्शन गरिरही। त्यसको प्रमाणमा रुमाल साटी, रुमाल साटिएको प्रेम गाढा हुन्छ भन्ने पुरानो विश्वासमा थियो उसको प्रेमी पनि। टाँसिएर फोटो खिची र सधैँ साथमा फोटो बोकेर हिँडी। उसलाई औधी मन पर्ने उसको त्यो प्रेमीलाई प्रत्येक भेटमा कसिलो शरीरलाई अझ आफूमा कसी। अंगालो हालेर जुङ्गाले नढाकेका राता ओठमा चुम्बन वर्षा गरी। गहुँगोरो गालामा म्वाइ खाई। आँखामा आँखा जोडेर हेरी। कयौँ पल्ट बलिष्ठ पाखुराहरु झड्कारेर आफूतिर तानी। केही नमिलेका औलाहरुलाई खेलाइ रही। विगतको ऐनामा आफूलाई हेरिरहँदा अँध्यारोसँगै बढ्दै जाने डर र त्रासजस्तै उसको मनमा कुराका शृङ्खलाहरु बढिरहे। उसले मानवीय भावना, गरिमा, प्रेम, कसैको कसैसँगको गहिरो सम्बन्ध-सबै विस्तारै धमिलिँदै गएको अनुभव गरी। अझ प्रेमको कुनै निर्दिष्ट गन्तव्य नहुँदोरहेछ भन्ने उसलाई लाग्यो। ‘के बिहे मात्र प्रेमको निर्दिष्ट गन्तव्य हो ?’, कल्पनाको क्षितिजको गजबार भाँचेर उसले आफैलाई सोधी-’होइन भने आफ्नो जीवनभन्दा प्रिय सम्बन्ध नाघ्नै नसक्ने पहाड र तर्नै नसक्ने समुद्रजस्तो भएर किन टुट्यो ? किन हरायो प्रेमको चीनो नीलो रुमाल ? रुमाल हराउनु र सम्बन्ध टुक्रिनु एकै साथ किन भयो ?’ ऊ अनुत्तरित भइ। उसले प्रेमको चिनो हराइसकेको रुमाल सम्झी। र, रुमाल सम्झिँदै उसले अतितका चोक्टाहरु स्मृतिमा नचाइरही। जेठको उखरमाउलो गर्मीको त्यो दिन उनीहरु टेकुको दोभानमा थिए। चुन पोतिएको त्यहाँको पुरानो देवलको रङ मान्छेको समवेदना र सभ्यताजस्तै पत्रपत्र भएर उप्किँदै गएको थियो। मैलो बाग्मतीलाई बग्ने हतारो थिएन, अल्छे लाग्दो गरी बगिरहेथ्यो। एउटाको देव्रे हातमा अर्काको दाहिने हात घुसारेर उनीहरु त्यो किनारैकिनार हिंडेका थिए। पारीको हरियो चौर र खुला आकाशको रंग त एकै थिएन तर वारी वसेर उनीहरुले पर देखिने पुल, उडिरहेका गिद्ध र कागका बथानहरुलाई एकनास नियालेका थिए। बतासको झोक्काले बिगारेको कपाललाई औलाको काइँयो बनाएर बेला बेला सम्याइरहन्थे। जलवायु परिवर्तनको असरले हुनुपर्छ खुला आकाशमा उत्तरतिरबाट केही राँटा बादल आएर धुम्म भएको थियो र एक्कासी पानी परेको थियो। खोला किनारको देवलको खोपीमा चेपिएर उनीहरु दर्किएको पानीबाट ओतिए। र, एकनास खोलामा परेका पानीका थोपाहरु हेरिरहे। उनीहरुको मनमा चाहिँ पानीका फोका फुटेजस्तै अनेक तरङ्ग आउने र फुट्ने गरिरहेको थियो। ऊ गुलाबी रङ्गको कुर्तामा थिई। यसले उसको सौन्दर्य निकै खुलेको थियो। उसको प्रेमी घ्यु रङ्गको सर्ट र त्यही रङ्गको पाइन्टमा आएको थियो। गहुँगोरो ऊ पनि निकै ह्याण्डसम देखिएको थियो। चोइटिएको इँटाको टुक्राले ओत लिएर बसेको ठाउँमा बिना सल्लाह सक्दो छिटोछिटो भुँइमा एक अर्काको नाम कोरेका थिए। अनि एक अर्कालाई हेरेर लजाएका थिए। र, फेरि एक अर्काको हत्केलामा नामको वर्णको पहिलो अक्षर लेखेका थिए। हत्केलामा निबले कोर्दा काउकुती लागेर उसले असहज महसुस गरेकी थिई। दुवैले एकअर्काको हत्केलाका किरमिरे रेखाहरुमा सुखको भविष्य कुदेको जिन्दगीको चित्र देखेका थिए। आकर्षक गोला आँखाबाट लत्पतिएर गालामा लागेको गाजले दाग उसले आफ्नो नीलो रुमालले पुछिदिएपछि पुरुष स्पर्शले उसका गुलाबी गालाहरु अझ गुलाबी गुलाबी भएका थिए। कतिसम्म भने अनुहारका मसिना छिर्के दाग पनि प्रष्ट देखिएको थियो। हल्का लिपिस्टिकले केस्रा परेका ओठमा ऊ अझ सुन्दर देखिएकी थिई। पानी थामिएको थियो। आकाश उघ्रिँदै थियो तर ढल्किँदो दिनसँगै ऊ विस्तारै उदास हुँदै थिई। विस्तारै हिँडेको अजिंगरजस्तो नदी किनारको सिँढीमा उसको दाहिने पट्टि ढेप्पिँदै भनेकी थिई-’म किन तिमीलाई विर्सनै नसक्ने भएको छु ? किन यति धेरै सम्झिन्छु र आफूलाई भन्दा तिमीलाई बढी माया गर्न थालेको छु ? मलाई जन्म दिने मेरी आमाको भन्दा बढी तिम्रो माया लाग्छ।’ चमकदार हीराजडित चाँदीको औँठीले अझ खिरिलो देखिएका उसका गोरा औँलाहरु चुमेपछि ऊ बोलेको थियो- ‘प्रेमको भ्रम यहीँबाट शुरु हुन्छ। जस्तो फूल फुल्नुअघि कोपिलामा हुन्छ। कोपिला सधैँ फूलभन्दा म सुन्दर छु भन्ने भ्रममा फूलिरहेको हुन्छ। कोपिला, फूल र प्रेमको भाषा एकै हुन्छ। केही नभनेर पनि फूल बोलिरहेको हुन्छ, मुस्काइ रहेको हुन्छ। केही नभनेर पनि प्रेममा धेरै भइरहेको हुन्छ। तिमीले कहिल्यै नसोच्नू यो प्रेम सागरभन्दा पनि गहिरो हुन्छ वा कहिल्यै नठान्नू यो उदास बगरजस्तो हुन्छ। जिन्दगीलाई आफ्नै आँखाको ऐनामा हेर्नु र सोच्नु कुनै दिन यो सगरजस्तो चौडा मनमा प्रेम गर्न एक चिम्टी ठाउँ पनि बाँकी नरहन सक्छ। आफूलाई औधी मन परेको कुनै चिज क्षणभरमै कुरुप लाग्न पनि सक्छ।’ शास्त्रीय शैलीको जवाफ उसले कम बुझी। ‘तर म त्यस्तो भ्रममा छु जस्तो लाग्दैन। म एकदम ठीक छु। मलाई मेरो मनले भनिरहेछ म साँच्चै प्रेमको दहमा विस्तारै डुब्दैछु। अब जीवन जीवन जस्तो लाग्न थालेको छ। तिमी छौ भन्ने लाग्छ र केही गर्ने उत्साह पैदा भइरहेछ। अब मसँग निराशाका कुनै राँटाहरु बाँकी छैनन्’, उसले एक सासमा ढेपिएरै भनी र उसका गालाहरुमा आफ्ना कोमल हत्केला नचाइ। एक अर्काको अनुहारमा मलिन भएर दुवैले हेरे। ‘तिमीलाई त्यस्तो लाग्नु पनि बेठीक होइन। प्रेम सदभाव हो यो सारा अस्तित्वप्रतिको। प्रेम करुणा हो, यदि त्यसमा दुःखी हुने हो भने त्यो भन्दा माथि दुःखी हुने कुनै ठाउँ हुँदैन। प्रेममा यस्तै हुन्छ। जीवन र खुशी, पीडा र आँसु पनि मगमगाउँछ थुप्रै परसम्म- त्यो क्षितिजभन्दा पनि परसम्म त्यसको सुवास मगमगाइ रहन्छ’, उसले यति भन्यो र उसको चाक्लो निधारमा एक चुम्बन गर्योि। त्यसपछि उसले फेरि अर्को प्रश्न गरिन। बरु त्यसपछि ऊ प्रतिको स्नेह झन बढेको महसुस गरी। साँझ अबेरसम्म उनीहरुले त्यो किनारमा घुमेर आँखाले भ्याएसम्म देखिने परको पहाडलाई हेरिरहे। उसले आफ्नो प्रेम त्यहीँसम्म फैलिएको छ भन्ने ठानी। लोडसेडिङ थिएन। शहरमा बिस्तारै बत्तीहरु बल्न थालेपछि उनीहरु त्यहाँबाट कच्ची सडक हिंड्दै पचली भैरवको मन्दिर पुगेका थिए। उसको पाखुरा आफूतिर तान्दै कुममा टाउको अड्याएर ऊ लस्याक लस्याक हिँडिरहेकी थिई। उनीहरुले घुमेर मन्दिर दर्शन गरेका थिए। त्यही दिन मन्दिरमा उसले आफ्नो खल्तीको नीलो चाक्लो रुमाल उसको हातमा राखिदिएको थियो। र, गालाहरुमा ओठको ल्याप्चे लगाइदिएर भनेको थियो-’राख यो रुमाल। अब मेरो गन्ध रुमालमा बेरिएर सधैँ तिमीसँगै रहन आएको छ। जहिलेसम्म हामी विधिवत् एक हुँदैनौँ तिमीले यो रुमाल सम्हालेर राख्नू। रुमाल साट्नु प्रेमको सबैभन्दा नजिकको प्रतीक हो। त्यसमा प्रेमीको सुगन्ध बसाउँछ। रुमालको सुगन्धले दिलाउने यादले प्रेमको समर्पण बढाउँछ र प्रेम अझ उचाइमा पुग्छ। जब साटिएको रुमाल हराउँछ त्यसपछि त्यो प्रेम आफै खिईँदै जान्छ। सम्बन्धका चहकिला रेखाहरु क्रमश मेटिँदै जान्छन् र अन्ततः विन्दु समेत नदेखिने गरी त्यो बिलाउँछ। सम्झिनू, साटिएको रुमाल हराउनु प्रेममा असफलताको संकेत र अपसकुन हो।’ केही नबोली उसले त्यो रुमाल आफ्नो कालो हाते ब्यागमा राखेकी थिई। र आफ्नो रातो रुमाल पट्याएर उसको हातमा राखिदिएकी थिई। नबोलेरै दुवैले दुवैलाई हेरेका थिए। त्यहाँबाट माथि टेकुको मूल सडकसम्म आउँदा झण्डै झुण्डिए जसरी नै ऊ उसको जीउमा ढेपिएकी थिई। त्यसपछिका दिनहरुमा पनि उनीहरु बंगलामुखी, दक्षिणकाली, सूर्यविनायक, स्वयम्भू, पशुपति डुलेका थिए। मन्दिरभित्रै पसेर दर्शन त गरेनन् तर मनमनै दुवैले एक अर्काको हुने बाचा गरे। ‘तर ठीक उसले भनेजस्तै भयो। मैले रुमाल हराएपछि सम्बन्धका चहकिला रेखाहरु क्रमशः मेटिँदै गए’, काठमाडौँको भीडभाड बसमा कार्यालयबाट घर फर्किँदै गर्दा हराएको रुमालको स्मृतिमा उसले आफूलाई फर्काई- ‘कुनै दिन यस्तो थियो उसलाई नसम्झी गाँस गलाबाट छिर्दैन थियो। एक झल्को उसको तस्वीर नहेरी न निद्रा पर्थ्यो न सपना सम्भव थियो। उसको माया नै आफ्नो जीवनको माया थियो र वास्तविक जीवनजस्तो लाग्थ्यो। तर त्यो प्रेमको पर्खाल आज कसरी गर्ल्याम्म ढल्यो ? म बिस्तारै हराएको रुमाल बिर्सिँदै छु। रुमाल साटेको मान्छेको यादलाई घटाउँदै छु। त्यो क्षितिजभन्दा पनि परसम्म फैलिएको ठानेको मेरो प्रेम किन यसरी खुम्चिएर गयो ? रुमाल साटेको त्यो सपनाको राजकुमारजस्तो मान्छे मेरो प्रेम लत्याएर कुन संसारमा बेपत्ता भयो होला, रुमाल हराए पछि ?’ उसले रुमाल हराएपछि सलले आँसु पुछ्दै रोएको सम्झी। उसको प्रेमीले रुमाल दिँदै मन्दिर अघि भनेको रुमाल हराएपछि सम्बन्धको चहकिलो रेखा पनि विस्तारै मेटिँदै जान्छ भन्ने कुरा मनमा आइरहेको थियो। जसले गर्दा ऊ मनमनै बढी पिरोलिएकी थिइ। कहिल्यै उसले आफ्नो प्रेमीलाई रुमाल हराएको कुरा बताएकी थिइन। शायद त्यो सञ्जोग मात्रै थियो वा वास्तविकता, रुमाल हराएपछि उसको शंका सत्यमा बदलिँदै गएको थियो। त्यसपछि बिनाकारण बिस्तारै उनीहरुको भेट पातलिएको थियो। सम्बन्धको गाढा रेखा फिका बन्दै गएको थियो। उसले आफ्नो प्रेम विस्तारै अतितको दुखान्त घटनामा बदलिदै गएको महसुस गर्दै गएकी थिई। आध्यात्मिक चिन्तनबाट पर रहेको उसको उत्तर आधुनिकजस्तो लाग्ने प्रेमीले भनेको शास्त्रीय र आध्यात्मिकजस्तो कुरा कसरी ठ्याक्कै उसको जीवनमा मेल खायो, ऊ प्रत्येक एकान्तमा सोचिरहन्थी। उस्तै मांसपिण्डको मुटुमा बग्ने प्रेमको अनुभव र स्वादमा किन अन्तर हुन्छ उसले बुझ्न सकिन। उसले प्रेम गरेको समय क्षणिक भावुकता थियो वा शारीरिक सुन्दरताको आकर्षण मात्रै वा मानवीय समवेदना केही खुट्याउन सकिनँ। यो प्रेमको आरम्भ कसले गर्योद होला भन्ने प्रश्नको जवाफ उसले आफूभित्र पाइन र प्रश्नलाई मनमा खेलाइ राखी। तर प्रेमले दिएको बिछोडको पीडा र दुखले कठोर र आँटिलो बनाइ रहेको उसले अनुभव गरी। उसले हिँडिरहेका प्रत्येक प्रेमी मान्छेहरु कसैको भविष्य छैन भन्ठानी। प्रत्येक मान्छेसँग विगत मात्र छ, वर्तमान र भविष्य प्रष्ट छैन भन्ने उसलाई लाग्यो। उसले आगतको असुहाउँदिलो स्वरुपलाई हेर्न खोजी तर सकिन। यस्तै कुरा मनमा खेलाउँदै गए पछि आफूले औधी माया गरेको मानवीय समेदना निथ्रिएको आफ्नो प्रेमीलाई सम्झिँदा रक्तचाप बढ्लाजस्तो हुने आफ्नो समस्या केही कम भएको उसले महसुस गरी। उसलाई लाग्यो निर्भयता मात्रै मान्छेको जीवनको मृत्युसँगको विजय हो। प्रेमसँग हारे पनि मान्छे मृत्यु जितेर बसिरहेको हुन्छ र बस्नु पर्छ। तर भययुक्त नहुनु मात्रै जीवनको सुरक्षा होइन भन्ने पनि उसले ठानी। जीवन असुरक्षित छ र त सुन्दर छ, प्रेम जीवन भन्दा पनि असुरक्षित र सुन्दर रहेछ भन्ने उसलाई लाग्यो। ‘प्रत्येकको मनमा भएको घाउ दुख्नेले मात्र अनुभव गर्न सक्छ, नदुख्नेले अनुमान मात्र गर्ने हो’ उसले मनमै विचार गरी-’जन्म, भेट, प्रेम, विछोड, मृत्यु अचानक हुने रहेछ। यसबाट उत्पन्न हुने प्रत्येक पीडामा मान्छे मन दुखाएर बस्छ। शायद मान्छे मन दुख्छ भन्ने जान्दा जान्दै यी कुरा अङ्गालिरहेको हुन्छ। हेर्नेले देखेका प्रत्येक कुरालाई सत्य ठानेर अनुमान गरिदिन्छ। मेरो हुन नसकेको प्रिय मान्छे ! हो तिमीले भनेको सही रहेछ, देखेको मात्र सत्य ठान्नु मूर्खता रहेछ। र त्यो मूर्खता सबैभन्दा ठूलो भूल रहेछ। जीवन पहिरो झरिरहने भित्तोजस्तो रहेछ, जहाँ पानी पर्दापर्दै वा पानी रहेर घाम लागे पनि पहिरो जाने सम्भावना उत्तिकै हुँदो रहेछ। जीवनको अन्तिम सत्य मृत्यु मात्र रहेछ। मलाई अहिले लागि रहेको छ मृत्यु जीवनको द्वार हो र जीवन हुनुको पहिलो पहिचान पनि हो। मृत्यु भएन भने जीवन शायद जीवनजस्तो हुँदैन। बिछोडिनु प्रेमको मृत्यु हुनु रहेछ। र, बिछोडिनु पनि प्रेम हुनुको अन्तिम खास पहिचान रहेछ। बिछोडिएन भने त्यो प्रेम प्रेमजस्तो नहुने रहेछ। मानेँ, घोप्टो परेर बसेको त्यो नीलो आकाश हेर्दै मैले तिम्रो काखमा पल्टेर सुनेका प्रत्येक कुरालाई माने, जो नदीको छालजस्तो भएर अहिले पनि मेरो मस्तिस्कको भित्तासम्म तरङ्गरिहन्छ।’ ऊसँग अब त्यो रुमाल थिएन र झझल्को बाहेक रुमालसँगै आउने प्रेमीको हरक पनि थिएन। पुल नजिकै पुगेका पाइला रोकेर रङ खुइलिसकेको पुरानो चौतारोजस्तो ऊ टक्क अडिई। बगेको खोलालाई पश्चिम पारेर अस्ताउँदो सूर्यलाई हेरी। अस्ताउन लागेको सूर्य हल्का खरानी टाँसिएको आगोको झरभराउँदो कोइलाजस्तो भएर क्षितिजको पहाडबाट आफूलाई बिलाउँदै थियो। नजिकैको रुखको कापबाट छिरेर आएको त्यसको तीखो किरण पनि विस्तारै सूर्यसँगै बिलाउँदै गएको उसले हेरिरही। अब अघि सडकमा देखिएका रुखका छाँयाहरु क्रमशः झन् लामा लामा, भद्दा र छाँया नै नछुट्टिने गरी काला बन्दै थिए। र, उसको सोचको नीलो दहचाहिँ विस्तारै घट्दै थियो।

मेरो गाउ

लुम्बिनी अञ्चलको पाल्पा जिल्लामा अबस्थित मदनपोखरा गाबिस नेपाल को नमुना गबिस आन्तर्गत पर्छ । उत्तरतिर सुन्दर नगरि तन्सेन र पूर्वमा आर्यभन्ज्याङको काखमा लुटुपुटियको मेरो गाउ हेर्नमा मनमोहक देखिन्छ। बिहानिको सुर्यको किरण हिमश्रीङखलामा देखिने पहेलो पर्दको द्रीश्य चारैतिर हरीयाली खोच र खोल्सा अनी बिच बिचको बस्तीले उदासियको मनलाई सितलता प्रदान गर्ने क्षयमता बोकेको छ यस्ले । अनेकतामा एकताको पाठ जो कोहिलाई पनि मदनपोखराले दिन साक्छ । मगर बस्तिको बाहुल्यता भयतापनी बाहुन नेवार दमै सार्की कामी लागायत अन्य जातिको बसोबास रहेको छ यहाँ । पुरानो सोचबिचार मुल्य मान्यता रुढिबादी आन्धपरम्परा कुरिती र बिसगती निम्त्याउने कला र सस्क्रितीलाई समयानुकुल पारीमार्जित गर्दै नयाँ सोच र बिचारधारामा लम्कियकोले समाजमा नौलोपनको आभास पाउनसकिन्छ । समाज र सामुदायको बिकास निर्माण र पर्बर्धनमा सामुदायिक संचारको महसुस गर्दे "सामुदायिक संचार बिकासको आधार" भन्ने नारा बोकेको "सामुदायिक रेडियो मदनपोखर" को स्थापनाले दक्षिण एसियामै पहिलो स्थान, नाम र सान जमायाको छ । मेहनत र लगन्सिल सोभाब जागर र फुर्तिले भरिपूर्ण यहाँका मानिस खेती किसानिदेखी लियर अफिस साम्म लगनताका साथ काममा तल्लिन देखिन्छन । अफिसमा जागिर खानेहरु पनि बिहान बेलुकी खेत बारीको काममा सहयोग गर्दछन । "काम गरेर सानो भैदैन क्यारे" यो उनिहरुको भनाइ हो। तरकारी खेती यहाँको मुख्य आम्दानिको श्रोत मानिन्छ भने समयअनुसारको फलफुल बिक्रीले आम्दानीको श्रोतलाई थप टेवा पुर्याएको छ। ग्रीन हाउसको नयाँ प्रबिधीबाट गरिने बेमौसमे तरकारी खेतीले बारैमासे ताजा फलफुल तथा तरकारी को अभाबको महसुस हुन पाउदैन । अनी तेसोत माछा पालान, मौरी पालान, आधुनिक किसिमको बङुर पालान , अनी छिटो आम्दनी दिने अदुवाखेती र आलु खेती पनि निकै प्रचलनमा छ। नेपालदेखी देश बिदेश सम्म प्रचलित "पाल्पाली ढाका टोपी" अनी "पाल्पाली करुवा" ले नाम को साथ साथै दाममा पनि राम्रो सहयोग पुर्याएको छ । आर्गनिक कफि को उत्पादन र आँफै प्रसोधन गरी डेन्मार्क र जापान लगायत आन्य देशहरुमा समेत पुगेको छ । ग्रीन हाउसको नयाँ प्रबिधीबाट गरिने बेमौसमे तरकारी खेतीको एक झलक: बिभिन्न उद्श्य प्रप्तीका लागि बिभिन्न समुहमा आबद्ध भई समान शहभागीता मेलमिलाप अनी लगनताकासाथ काम गर्नु पनि आर्को बिसेस्तामा पर्न आउछ । महिल बिकास र उत्थानमा आमा समुह सकृय छन। कफि खेती तथा प्रर्बर्धनका लागि कफि समुह, त्यतै गरी बाख्रापालान समुह, बाउ समुह लगायत गरी बचत गर्न प्रोत्साहन तथा ऋण आदानप्रदान का लागि बचत समुहहरुले उल्लेखनिय तथा उदाहरनिय काम गरेका छन। युवा तथा बालबालिक आ आफ्नै क्षेत्रमा आ आफ्नैतबले सक्रीय छन । सामुदायिक बन उपभोत्ता समुह र सामुदायिक जडिबुडी नर्सरी केन्द्रले ठुला समुहको नेत्रीत्व गरेको छन । सरकारी बनलाई समुदायमा हस्तान्तरण गर्ने तिती अनुसार मेरो गाउ मा पनि तीन वोटा सामुदायिक बन छ । समुदायलाई हस्तान्तरण गरेपछि बनले उचित स्याहार सुसार यबम सम्रक्षण पयको छ भने उपभोत्ताले समान उपभोग गर्न पायका छन। सेवासुबिधाले सम्पन्न छ भन्दा पनि हुन्छ मेरो गाउ लाई। साच्चै भन्नु पर्द मेरो गाउलाई रिङ रोडले घेरेकोछ। दुख्ख परको खन्डमा सबै जसो घरमा ट्याक्सी जान्छ । अनी सामन ओसर पसारका लागि ट्याक्टार निकै लोकप्रिय छ ।स्वास्थ्यका दृष्‍टिकोणले हेर्दा एउटा मात्र स्वास्थ्यचौकी भयपनी ठाउँठाउ मा भयको क्ल्निक ले धेरै मद्धदत गरको छ । यातायात सुबिधाले गर्द स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्रमा समस्या खेप्नु परको छैन । सुचना तथा संचार क्षेत्रमा मोबाइलले महत्त्वोपूर्ण भूमिका खेलेको छ। ब्यबसाहिक जमघट तथा ब्यक्त्तिगत समाचार आदानप्रदान का लेगी भरपर्दो, छिटो छरितो तथा सुरक्षित सेवा प्रदान गरको छ।

ल हेर्नुस् मान्छेको सोच बिचार कस्ता कस्ता हुन्छन यकै छिन चर्चा गरौ... कोही पनि मान्छे जन्मिदा ठुलो सानो भयर जन्मेको हुदैन सामान्यतया सुरुमा जन्मेको सबै मान्छेको तौल बराबर जस्तो नै हुन्छ, अनी कोही धेरै ट्यलेन्ट र कोइ कम ट्यालेन्ट हुदैन अथवा कसैको मोटो कसैको तिखो दिमाग हुदैन। अथवा कोही शक्तिशली र कोही कम्जोर भयर जन्मेको हुदैन, यो त सबै तपाईंको गाउ समाज र बातावरणमा भर पर्नेकुरो हो। अपबाद बाहेकका सबै मान्छे दुई हात, दुई खुट्टा, नाक कान लगायत रित्तो दिमाग लियर जन्मेको हुन्छ। ल हेनुस् तपाईं भन्नुहुन्छ नि फलानो त कती असल, फलानो कती मुर्ख अनी फलानोको छोरो त डाक्टर भयो रे, फलानोको छोरो पाईलट भयो रे एस्तै एस्तै कुराहरु गर्नुहुन्छ नि होइन ? तर तपाईंले कहिले सोचनु भयको छ त यो सबै कसरी भयो भनेर!!! शायद छैन होला। अब प्रसँग बादलेर अर्कै कुरा गरौ है त, मैले एस्तो मान्छे देखेको छु की तपाईंलाई कसैले हेर हेर::: कौवाले त तेरो कान नै लगिदियछ नि भनेर कसैल जिस्काउछ अनी तपाईंले दाँया बाँया केहीपनी नसोची अथवा तपाईंले आफ्नो कान नै नछामी खोइ खोइ कता ह कता कता ::: भन्दै पुरा!! आकाश तिर हेरी खुब कौवाको पछी पछी दुगुर्नुहुन्छ::ल हेर्नौस यो चै यक थरी मान्छे भयो, एस्को माने त तपाईं बुज्नुभयको छ नि होइन त। कुनै पनि घटनालाई यक तर्फीमात्र हेरेर निणय गर्ने हरु हुन्छन नि उनिहरु को चालामाला एस्तै हुन्छ। कुनै पनि घटना, गल्तीहरुको सकारात्मक र नकारात्मक दुबै पक्षलाई केलायर हेर्ने मान्छे प्राय कमै छनहोला। तपाईंले आर्को थरी मान्छे लाई चिन्नु भयको छ त, पक्कै छ तर पनि म फेरी याद दिलाउछु ल।। मान्छे अकदमै लोभि पनि हुँदा रहेछन। अब लोभी भनेर कसलाई भन्ने त अनी कस्तो खाल्को लोभि त । ल हेर्नुस् फलानोले यती कमायो रे दुबइ बाट फर्कदा, फलानोको त एती कोठे घर छ उती कोठे घर छ, त्यो पनि कति राम्रो अनी एती पैसा बैंक ब्यालेन्स राखेको छ रे, ल हेर्नुस् त कस्तो लोभि मान्छेको जात !!!! उल्ले कती ढुख गरेर कमायाको होला त्यतापट्टी त उनीहरुको सोचै छैन उस्ले गरको दु:ख बाट यउटा राम्रो पाठ सिकनु, उजस्तो लगनसिल बन्नु अनी मेहनत गरेर नै सफल भाईदो राइछ भन्नु कहाँ हो कहाँ उल्टै उनिहरु भित्र भित्रै जलेका हुन्छन, आ-आफुमा मुर्मुरियका हुन्छन आफु आफैसँग। अनी उनिहरुले आफुले आफैलाई हिनताबोधको महसुस गर्न थालछन। अनी एउटा मानसिक तनाबको सिर्जना हुन्छ,नकारात्मक सोच र बिचारले उस्को मन छताछुल्ल हुन्छ अनी त्यो छताछुल्ल मनको करणले दुर्घटना निम्त्यउछ। ल हेर्नुस् त लोभको करणले के-के हुदोरैछ!!!! मान्छे त कस्ता कस्ता हुन्छ हुन्छन यो त बणन गरेर साध्यनै हुदैन। अब बिचारको दृष्‍टिकोणले हेर्ने हो भने त म एउटा मान्छे संकुचित बिचारधारा र फराकिलो बिचार धारा भयका अब English भन्दा के भन्छन Narrow Minded and Wide Minded. अब संकुचित बिचारधारा भयका मान्छेहरुलाई कसरी बणन गरौ र म पुरानो रितिरिवाज, कलासस्क्रिती, मुल्य र मान्यतामा यकदमै अडिग रहने! ताकी यो समय र परिस्थिती अनुसार परिमार्जित गर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ त्यतापट्टी त सोच्दैनसोच्ने अनी कसैको सुझाब नसुन्ने अनी जातिय भेदभाबमा अडिग रहने मान्छे अझै कती छन कती, प्राय गरेर हाम्रा हजुरामा अनी आमा बाउहरु अनी उनिहरुकै डर र मायाममताका करण हामी जस्ता युबाहरु पनी हैन अब त एसोमा एसो गर्नु पर्छ भनेर भन्नेलाई उल्टै ए!! तेरो बाउ लाई सिकाउने भाईस होइन त भनेर झपार्ने गर्दछन अब एस्तो मान्छे लाई म कसरी सम्झाउने म त सक्दिन है!!!! तपाईं नै सम्झाउनुस् !! तपाईंले आर्को थरी मान्छे लाई पनि चिनेकै हुनुपर्छ, कस्तो भने ने तपाईंले ख्याल गर्नु भयको छ कि छैन तपाईंकै माजमा तपाईंकै वोरिपरी एस्ता मान्छे हुन सक्छन, तपाईंले न चिनेको पनि हुन सक्छ। कसैले मत्लब तपाईंकै ज्ञायाङ मध्यकै कुनै साथीले राम्रो कार्यपर्गती गरेको छ भने उस्लाई कसरी डाउन गर्ने अथवा उस्लाई अनेक थरी जाल रचेर उलाई बिगार्ने हरपल कोशीस गरिराख्छन एस्ता मान्छे तपाईंकै वोरिपरी हुन्छन ख्याल राख्नुहोलानी!!!!! अ त म तपाईंलाई माया गर्छु अनी तपाईं पनि मलाई माया गर्नुहुन्छ, धेरै भयो हर्मो मायापिरती बसेको तर हेर्नुस् न यहाँ एस्ता मान्छे पनि चन कि हाम्रो मायापिरती, मेलमिलाप अनी हामी बिच भयको खुशी पटक्कै देखी सहन्नन, अनी उनिहरु सोच्न थाल्छन यिनिहरुको मायापरिती कसरी बिगारने, छुटाउने…. मैले थाहा पायको उनिहरु कस्तो गर्दा राइछन भने, मेरो कुनी न राम्रो कुर अथवा कुनी न राम्रो बानी उस्लाई सुनाइदिने अनी भन्छन रे त्यो त एस्तो छ उस्तो छ, एसो गर्छ , उस्तो गर्छ नानाभाती कुरा लगैदिन्छन अनी आफु चै उसँग मख्ख पर्नेरे ल हेर्नुस् त उता मेरो बारेमा नराम्रो कुर लगाइदिन्छन अनी म सँग आउछन उस्को बारेमा न राम्रो कुरा लगाएदिन्छन। अब दुइटैको नजरमा दुइटै नराम्रो भयनत!!! अनी यक्ले आर्कालाई गल्ती लगाउनेगर्छौ अनी भयको तेती राम्रो सम्बन्धमा छारो, सिद्द्यो तपाईंहाम्रो सम्बन्ध। मतलब मान्छेले मान्छेलाई एसरी नै बिगारने गर्छन्….. मित्र भनेको के हो ?देश के हो ? खर्च के हो ?जात के हो ? म को हुँ ? मेरो सामर्थ्य के छ ?बारम्बार चेतनु!!!!!!!!! सिंह को एक गुन लिनु बकुल्ला को एक गुन लिनु, कुकुर को चार गुन लिनु ,गदाहको तीन गुन लिनु!!!!!!! केही कार्य परेपनि सिद्द्याइ छाड्नु,कसैले गर्न नसकेको काम गर्नु ,यती गुन सिंह को लिनु ज्ञानी मानिसले आफ्नो काम नवनुन्जेल साधु भैरहनु काम को अवसर परे काजको नै साधना गर्नु यो गून बकुल्लाको लिनु आइपरे खानु ,नभए सन्तोष भैइरहनु चाँडै सुत्त्नु,चाँडै उठ्नु ,स्वमिको सेवा गर्नु, यती गुन कुकुरको छेउ लिनु नबिसाइकन भारि बोक्नु,तातो चिसो नभनी ढिलो भएपनि सन्तोष मान्नु यती गुन गधा सँग सिक्नु कमलको फुल्जस्तो उज्यालो मुख, श्रीखान्ड जस्तो शितल वचन्, हृदयमा भने कर्जी जस्तो यि तीन धुर्त का लक्ष्यण हुन । दुर्जन मनुश्यसित विश्वास नगर्नु किनभने जिभ्रामा अमृत पेट मा बिष हुन्छ । दुर्जन हरु अर्का को दोश रायो प्रमाण पनि देख्छन आफ्नो भने वेल को गेडो जस्तो पनि नदेखे झै गर्छन । देख्न्नाको राम्रा ,धनवन्त छन्, ज्ञान गुन नभएका मुर्खहरु सुवाश नभएका पलाशका फुल हुन.
